Challenge

The organization had a SaaS platform, which provided a go-to source for compliance professionals looking for regulatory analysis of global, federal, and state life sciences laws relating to the marketing and sale of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. The system was starting to show its age and was not able to meet modern requirements around accessibility and mobile. Worse, the system was no longer intuitive to end users because new functionality being added was not envisioned when the system was first built. Additionally, a responsive mobile interface created a more accessible experience for a broad class of subscribers.

Impact

The application was a big part of client’s marketing. Following the rewrite, the new user experience and smart search tools were a big appeal for new subscribers. By the end of the second year, the platform experienced 74% subscriber growth. And for the first time, compliance data could be added and managed dynamically by back-office personnel, saving tens of thousands of dollars in annual data update releases.
