Jon Kloptosky

Jon Kloptosky · President

Jon has led the development team at Gavant since founding the company in 2002. Clients rely on him for his understanding of current technologies and how those technologies can be leveraged to solve unique business challenges. Jon focuses his energy on fostering Gavant’s company image and culture and on establishing measurable business processes that bring increased value both to Gavant and its clients. Fun fact about Jon – He's somewhat of a connoisseur of Penne Vodka and has learned to prepare it well himself. View more

Prior to Gavant, Jon worked for a local startup company where he built network management software for web and mobile platforms. As software architect, he was responsible for overall solution design for the web development tier and developed a proprietary wireless architecture to overcome space limitations of Palm and Windows mobile devices. His role was later expanded to project manager and was responsible for general development across the team.

Jon graduated with honors from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, earning B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer and Systems Engineering as well as an M.S. degree in Computer Science. Committed to professional advancement, he has attained Sun Certified Java Programmer and Developer certifications and stays up to date with current technology trends to provide innovative services in software design and development. Brendan Reuss

Brendan Reuss · Director, Business Development

Brendan leads the sales, business development and marketing efforts for Gavant. He joined the team in 2011, bringing with him over 15 years of high-tech sales experience from the Boston area where he worked with clients like Calix Networks, Texas Instruments, Motorola, Nokia and Cisco Systems. Brendan earned his degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Nazareth College. Fun fact about Brendan – He enjoys boating and playing golf, but, more importantly, knows all the lines to the movie series “Vacation”. View more

Brendan managed the lifecycle of customer relationships and brokered multi-faceted large scale contracts for a variety of vertical markets. He’s received numerous sales awards and accolades for new business development, including Top Sales Performer in both 2007 and 2008. Prior to joining Gavant, Brendan worked for a local telecommunications company where he was in charge of government sales for the State of New York. View less

Andrew Blick

Andrew Blick · Lead Software Engineer

Andrew is the development lead for Java-based web and software systems. Since joining the team in 2008, Andrew has helped to define and refine our web system architecture, maintaining a current knowledge of web development trends and browser compatibility challenges. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Fun fact about Andrew – He has visited all 48 continental states and Alaska. He recently requested that Gavant finds a client with headquarters in Hawaii.

Kyle Camp

Kyle Camp · Lead Software Engineer

Kyle joined Gavant in 2008 and is the development lead for .NET-based web and software systems. With a B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Information Technology and Management Information Systems, Kyle keeps well-informed of software design patterns and development trends. He has a tremendous aptitude for understanding complex systems and breaking down large problems. Fun fact about Kyle – He enjoys woodworking and cooking. His desserts are enjoyed throughout the office but we’re still waiting for custom furniture.

Alan Distasio

Alan Distasio · Software Engineer

Alan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Siena College with minors in Mathematics and Multimedia. Joining Gavant in 2010, Alan has been a significant asset to the development team across various projects, bringing solid knowledge and experience with Java and web technologies. His positive attitude and eagerness to dive in make him an extremely effective contributor, both on the web tier and within the database. He is a Red Sox fan, but we don’t hold that against him. Fun fact about Alan – He rides a T-Rex to work every day.

Paul Hamilton

Paul Hamilton · Software Engineer

Paul joined Gavant in 2011. A Cum Laude graduate of the University of Albany with a B.S. in Computer Science, Paul has an outstanding aptitude for navigating unfamiliar software systems and adapting to new technologies. His self-motivated nature and ability to break large problems down into manageable components are significant factors in his efficiency. From Java to web technologies to mobile development, Paul is a great asset to the team. Fun fact about Paul – He enjoys Fencing to the extent that he is tournament-rated.

Miles Lyon

Miles Lyon · Software Engineer

Miles holds B.S. degrees in Biochemistry, Biophysics and Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytecnic Institute. Since joining Gavant in 2011, Miles has been a tremendous asset to the development team both on our .NET and mobile development platforms. His eagerness to navigate unfamiliar technologies is an inspiration to those around him and his technical capabilities make it all seem so easy. Fun fact about Miles – He has cliff-jumped from the falls of the Troy gorge every summer since 2007.

Bill Murray

Bill Murray · Software Engineer

Bill is the graphic design talent at Gavant. Since joining the team in 2006, Bill has been a significant asset in a variety of roles. On the design side, his talent with Adobe tools like PhotoShop and Illustrator has helped us ensure our deliverables are every bit as aesthetic as they are functional. His skills with Flash, JavaScript, CSS and various other web technologies make him a versatile asset both on our Java platform as well as our .NET platform. Fun fact about Bill – He has never owned a Windows computer.

Kevin Wheeler

Kevin Wheeler · Quality Assurance Manager

Kevin joined Gavant in 2008 with a background in Computer Information Systems from Schenectady County Community College and a critical eye for those things developers fail to see. Kevin’s persistence with manual and automated testing not only ensures the quality that our clients have come to expect but also inspires the team around him to do the same. He’s convinced that a Nerf dart fired at point-blank range can be an effective defect-reduction strategy. Fun fact about Kevin – He wrote, produced and recorded two solo albums from his home.
