Gavant Software president, Michael Holtzman, announces intent to address students and faculty of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Community Advocate group and Career Development Center at a panel discussion about internet identity on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 6-8:00 pm at the RPI campus.

Holtzman plans to start the dialog and elevate awareness about the use of the internet as a benefit for students, job seekers and employers alike. "The discussion couldn't have come at a better time as we are trying to retain a talented and educated workforce in upstate NY" says Melissa Coons at the Albany-Colonie Chamber of Commerce.

The relatively recent term, internet identity is “using the internet as a tool by means of socializing, networking and communicating.” “The internet now gives students and job seekers a huge platform to market their skills and promote themselves” says Holtzman, an RPI alum. Companies can harness the power of these new social networking sites as a recruitment tool.

Among other panelists are: Warner Arthur, Waddell & Reed, Mary Cogan, France Telecom R & D, Margaret Lively, RTTS, Jo Parente, Wolf Greenfield and Jill Spofford, Pitney Bowes MapInfo.
