Gavant Software is currently seeking a highly motivated Java web developer who will design and develop custom web applications both in a team environment and in an individual capacity. The position will also provide general support for software systems currently in production as directed.

Applicant must be a US citizen who is able to work during business hours.

Job Description

• Design and develop JSP and related web components.
• Identify functional requirements for software systems.
• Build web applications from start to finish.
• Test and maintain systems in production.
• Interface with clients to gather requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve general software defects.
• Communicate development techniques effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field).
• 3+ years experience with Java using XML and JDBC.
• 2+ years experience with JSPs and Servlets.
• Proficiency in relational databases and query writing.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, XHTML and JavaScript.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Apache Struts.
• Experience using Ajax/javascript libraries.
• Experience with databases, sql writing, stored procedure interaction.
• Comfort in learning new technologies.
